Andrea
I'm Andrea and I've been with the Cape Swim family since it's foundation. My background is 16 years in Early Childhood Development, so it's absolutely safe to say I love working with children! I’m a certified Learn to Swim instructor with an infant / child CPR course, level 1 First Aid as well as a Paediatric First Aid qualification. I’ve merged my passion for kids and skill set for teaching with my love for swimming and I've been a very happy swimming teacher for past 7 years.
Van
Originally from Port Alfred, I’ve been sharing my love of water with people of all ages and abilities for over 10 years. I feel great joy when I can pass my love of water and swimming onto others. I thoroughly enjoy being part of every new swimmer’s water journey, finding their skills and developing new ones. Being able to be a part of teaching a child or adult to learn to swim on their own is such a unique gift, and one that I hope to keep doing for years to come! I started my teaching swimming career in 2011 at Suncoast H20 and a few years later I joined El Shaddai Christian Academy where some of my swimmers competed and excelled at Christian School Nationals. I have an STA qualification in learn to swim and teach in the afternoons at Oasis Swimming Academy in Hout Bay
Dee
I've been working with children for the past 16 years and have always had a passion and love for children of all ages. I am STA qualified from 2016. As a child I myself loved the water and swam both for fun and competitively in school and for Province. Swimming allowed me to take part in so many other sports such as first team water polo and lifesaving which I did for 4 years. When I left school I was asked to come train and teach at a school in San Diego called Pacific Swim. Here I spent the whole day in the water and it was then 10 years ago that I discovered how strong my passion was and that teaching swimming was what I wanted to do. I then came back to Cape Town where I studied at Silwood culinary school and had a baby girl a year after that. During time I continued to teach and work with children. I have currently just completed a dual diploma in Pedagogy, studying both child development and Montessori philosophy. Here I achieved a Merit in both a National Diploma in Early Childhood Development and a Diploma in Montessori. This has been a huge benefit with regards to my teaching in the pool and my understanding with regards to the development of the children I teach both in and out the pool.

Stella
Hi, I’m Stella! I’m a certified Learn-to-Swim and Baby Swimming Instructor with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Since 2012, I’ve been dedicated to early childhood development, teaching with enthusiasm, engagement, and patience. My passion has been shaped by additional training in infant baby massage, sensory processing disorder, and childhood nutrition. Over the past 12 years, I’ve worked in both the swimming and education sectors—including working alongside Olympic champion Ryk Neethling. These experiences have equipped me with a sensory- based, structured, and passionate teaching approach. I’ve developed a deep love for the water and truly enjoy sharing that love with children. Watching their confidence grow as they learn through their senses is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. I strive to create a safe, welcoming environment where every child can feel comfortable in the water and build a lifelong love for swimming.
Fritha
I am a water baby and have loved swimming for as long as I can remember - from the enjoyment of playing around and being in the water to taking part in competitive swimming, life saving and getting more into Open Water Swimming. Swimming is my passion, it makes me feel calm and focused! I'm passionate about seeing others - from babies to adults, learning to enjoy and grow an appreciation and love for swimming, there is something so beautiful and calming about being in the water. If I could be a mystical creature, I would definitely be a mermaid. I have over 19 years of teaching experience and various swimming qualifications under my belt.
