BENEFITS OF
LIFE SKILL
Swimming is an essential life skill which teaches children to understand and respect the water. Swimming creates water awareness and water safety by teaching them how to save themselves should they fall in or play close to pools of water.
Regular Lessons
It is highly recommended that swimming lessons continue all year round, including the winter months. Regular weekly lessons help children retain and improve their water safety skills as well as allows them practice their skill set on a routine basis. This is important so children don’t develop bad habits or a fear of water as they get older.
5 Senses
You use all your senses when you swim. 1) You SEE where you are swimming 2) You HEAR differently under the water 3) You SMELL the water (salt) 4) You blow bubbles through your mouth and sometimes TASTE the water 5) You FEEL the water on your skin. When using your senses, you get a calm feeling, without even noticing it! The water’s buoyancy helps with this as well.
Cardiovascular
Swimming keeps your cardiovascular systems healthy and fit. Focusing on your breathing, not only builds big lungs, but helps reduce stress. Much like yoga does! Swimming as a sport is also great for chidlren who suffer from asthma.
